Sony's Bend Studio has revealed a slew of details about their upcoming Uncharted adaptation for the NGP platform.

Sony recently invited a handful of people from the gaming industry at Sony Pictures soundstage in LA to test out its upcoming PSP successor and experience first hand the diverse launch lineup that it will offer. Right off the bat, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, made it clear what the day was all about:

“We’ll talk more about social connectivity features down the line – today is about showing off the core games and getting you hands-on time. I’m sure you have burning questions on launch date, pricing, 3G data plans, and we’ll be very happy to share all those with you moving forward.”

The first game showcased at the press event was Bend Studio's Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Sony's portable adaptation of the Uncharted franchise that focuses on the NGPs new control scheme. Learn more about the game and the NGP platform right down below.

A little note from Sony about the NGP unit shown on the video: "Every NGP you’ll see is a dev unit; they’re the right size, but they don’t possess that final PlayStation-quality fit and finish. What you’ll eventually be able to pick up in a store will look a heck of a lot better."

More details about Sony's highly anticipated next gen portable are expected to be revealed at next week's E3. The company's press conference will also live stream on the PlayStation Blog and the PlayStation Home.

I really would like to buy the NGP, but I have certain worries that the hackers or hacker will keep on srewing with sony and its customers. Which might cause prices to rise, credit info stolen, etc.

I only had 2 PSP(1000)Phat. But, my last one finally gave in early 2009. Been with sucky ipod touch 2nd gen and Xbox 360 since.

The graphic of the NGP look great. best of luck to sony and its customers.

Graphics looks impressive. But seriously the whole touch control to do the simplest platforming looks annoying. It's 2011 now Sony, it's like you're demonstrating a stupid DS game from 2005.

I really don't like the idea of not being able to see what's going on because of my finger being in the way. The touch screen is understandable on DS because of the thin stylus. I'm sure they'll work out some of these problems in Uncharted, when it's released though.

i agree, it´s annoying playing games with your fingers on the screen, you cover the action...i just hope that we can use the buttons as alternative, and not just the touchscreen to do certain actions.

"Yes, it’s totally optional. You can play through the whole game and not use it."

And that quote form someone who actually tried the game.
