Now that the Nintendo 3DS is finally out and in a few lucky gamers' hands, the Japanese gaming media is turning its attention to Sony's upcoming New Generation Portable. Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu recently asked a few high profile members of the Japanese video game inudstry what they thought of the PlayStation Portable successor.

Most of the respondents, which included Capcom's Jun Takeuchi, Square Enix's Yoshinori Kitase, and Grasshopper Manufacture's Goichi Suda, expressed enthusiasm for the NGP's internet connectivity features. The addition of 3G support, in particular, was a favorite. Most of the producers and directors interviewed said that they see the NGP's connectivity features as a great tool for connecting gamers to each other and a welcome boon for the downloadable game industry as a whole.

The magazine also asked the producers and directors to predict the NGP's price point. Their answers regarding the NGP pricing scheme tended to range from a little under JP¥ 30,000 (around US$ 366) to almost JP¥ 40,000 (around US$ 488), athough most of them personally hoped that the handheld would be released for a lower price than what they expect.

i guess im not buying an ngp till about 2 years to its release till it gets under 250 lol awesome piece of hardware but i just dont think its worth that much for the handheld. before yal start to flame me i do not blame sony for over pricing it im just saying their not going to get many sells for that high of a price especially in the economy were in

The sad thing is Sony will never be as good as the were with the PS2. Honestly the PS2 was, is and will always be the best console ever! The reason why the PS2 was, is and will always be the best console ever is because it had 500 exclusive game s and over 1500 multiplatform games! That is the main reason why the PS2 was, is and will always the best console ever.

The PS1 was also a great console! It had over 250 exclusive games and over 400 multiplatform games.
