WoW guilds: Cut instance trash mobs?

Coilfang Reservoir - inside is Serpentshrine Cavern - Image 1While Lady Vasdhj over at Coilfang's is considered by many players to be a royal pain (even guild Nihilum's having problems with her), there's an ongoing discussion in World of Warcraft over something even more bothersome at Serpentshrine Cavern: trash mobs. For the players asking, trash mobs are the resident monsters found in WoW dungeons - adventurers need to eliminate them before facing off with the dungeon's boss.

And while some players welcome trash mobs as a source of experience, reputation (points), and loot (especially for instances like AQ40), several members of WoW's premier guilds are beginning to show their frustration regarding the matter. As members of WoW's Death and Taxes guild stated:
  • "I personally love hours upon hours of trash. I especially enjoy having to kill it multiple times because the respawn is so quick. I enjoy it ALMOST as much as fighting untuned bosses. THE SARCASM, IT'S OVERWHELMING!" - Cherrie, Korgath server:
  • "As much as I know you need us to play-test all of these new instances, we might not volunteer for it anymore since it's threatening our sanity ... please don't release Black Temple. It's too soon."-Plastique, Korgath server
It's not just Serpentshrine's trash that's being dissed at this point. One WoW Insider member further commented that the situation was equally bad for low to mid-level guilds doing lower level-instances; trash respawn times were further reported to be sometimes worse than their upper-level counterparts.

Of course, until Blizzard makes an official statement regarding this problem, players will just have to bear with it. As more than one WoW veteran player noted: Trash mobs are a test to see if you're worthy enough to kill the boss.
