WoW addict featured on Tyra: prepare the Tylenol

What happens when a WoW addict who ignores crying babies just so that he can continue to battle in Azeroth shows up the Tyra Banks show? Trust us, it's not pretty, and its far from intelligent.

What's amusing about this featured WoW addict on Tyra Banks' show, is that his wife seemingly blames him for ignoring her and implies that he shuns human interaction in favor of his computer and WoW. The thing is, human interaction (despite the veil of avatars and pixels) is what makes WoW so addictive in the first place.

To be fair to the wife, the addict is an ass-hat for leaving the baby crying. And it is appalling that he did  leave her while in labor to "go home and change", but never did return 'cos he got stuck playing WoW. However, she should realize that he's not ignoring her for a game, he's ignoring her for other people. And if the addict is indeed that irresponsible, why is she still with him in the first place?

Moreover that CD shredding thing at the end was just plain stupid. Of course, that got the audience clapping like sugar-saturated toddlers in a playground filled with Happy Meals.

Quitting WoW, or any other addiction isn't as easy, and isn't as heartwarming, awe-inspiring, affirming, or as "magical" as that stunt Tyra pulled with that shredder.

However, the stunt does make for good TV. Which is what matters to those who watch this show ...right?

It's really funny that they shreaded the CD's because the game still remains on his computer and his account remains active therefore if he really wanted to play it again he could just load it up and log in... However I do agree that you can get addicted to the game and I do play alot myself buy I know for a fact my "life" stays in tact I go to school and I go to my girlfriends and hang out with friends :-)!

This makes me want to puke, people who suffer addiction don't need stupid TV shows to make them feel worse about it but help form professionals (i.e. psychologists + Therapy)

Btw you really can't say WoW is about human interaction because if it was so, we wouldn't have to put up with this crap :/

# bad repGuest 2007-01-31 03:57
things like this give video games (espicially wow) a bad rep from the public. i mean what do they know about the game, in small doeses it can be fun relaxing and social when you meet people around the world.
