New Netherdrake quest won't reward Epic riding skill - Image 1

If you were hoping for another freeloader experience with the new Netherdrake Quest that hits with the 2.1.0 content patch, try again another time. Blizzard says that the Netherdrake Quest has serious riding skill pre-requirements, and that it won't be granting you the Epic riding skill to mount your awesome new pet.

Just to remind you, the quest isn't actually about gaining the skill to ride the Epic flying mount. It's a quest to gain the Epic flying mount. We know that the Dreadsteed quest offered both so that you can readily dash your Undead avatar through the Outlands, but this Epic mount quest is another story.

So obviously you'll have to reconsider some major gold sponsorship from third-party sources, or consider ingredient grinding for a quite some time. Or if you don't want to make repeated trips to the Auction House, you always have other alternatives. Ahem, no, not that one. Or that one. Oh heck, you know what? Go for the grind. It'll beat riding a gigantic pigeon with mane or forming into an over-sized crow any day.
