World of Warcraft: Haste changes in patch 2.2 - Image 1Melee and Caster Haste has been modified in the PTR of Blizzard's World of Warcraft. While this wasn't noted in the 2.2 patch notes, a few observant players discovered the change and posted it on various forums and websites.

15.76 points of haste are now required to get a 1% increase in attack speed in Melee. On the non-PTR servers you can get the same increase at only 10.51 points. So Melee fighters relying on this should enjoy their attack speed because it may be dropping  slightly once patch 2.2 goes live.

However, spellcasters got a very significant buff considering they only need 15.76 points of haste to get the 1% increase in casting time. Currently, 21 points are needed to get the increased speed on the regular servers.

If these modifications stick, the current PvP conventions will be changed significantly. It's interesting to consider though that the number of points needed for both melee and spellcasting are the same; could it be that it just wasn't tweaked on the PTR and 15.76 is the default value of the skill increase?
