World of Warcraft: Emerald Dream to be the next expansion? |

And even before we mention the question, we'll answer it for you: yes, Blizzard plans to release an expansion for every year that passes. But as long as it remains in the planning stages, such an answer to the question "is Blizzard going to release another expansion soon?" is moot.While Blizzard is not keen to tell what exactly they do have in their plans, there are plenty of other content available right with your current World of Warcraft build that isn't finished. One such content is the Emerald Dream, which according to some players, its content has changed inside one of the MPQ files in World of Warcraft.
Because of the change in the skybox to the Emerald Dream content, it is very possible that the content itself is under development. In fact Nethaera was helpful enough to sneak in a clue when she stated, "Yes we are thinking on and planning on a new expansion. No, we aren't talking as of yet about what it will be. We have many things we are working on including continuing to improve upon and add on to what we have in the game now."
But since the Emerald Dream used to be Furion Stormrage's Wonderland, it should particularly be a Druid's playground. Playground is an understatement, however, as the Emerald Dream is a greener version of the entire World of Warcraft: there are more plant life, forests and shrubbery than you can get from the Everglades.
Will it be the next expansion? While it could be safe to speculate, Blizzard is focused on patching everything up in The Burning Crusade before pushing out for another problem to fix. And after all, Blizzard wouldn't want to lose 8 million users playing the game after they've finally run out of expansion ideas.
