World of Warcraft Druids review Mark of the Wild - Image 1World of Warcraft's Mark of the Wild is pretty much like Warcraft III: The Reign of Chaos' own Mark of the Wild skill of Druids, although pretty much mapped out to fill out aspects of a typical role-playing game. Druids all know that this is probably the only valuable buff they have at the early levels.

But as Druids peak off at Level 70, they have felt that eerie, sinking feeling that the talent doesn't scale well with their level or with the difficulty of the game.

Though Blizzard is probably content to at least provide something they can use to buff in absence of any other buff (something is better than nothing, we suppose), we still believe some value can be provided to the talent's utility.

Of course, it would require a new analysis of the talent, covering the issues from multiple sides as there many other aspects linked to a skill that buffs armor, stats and resistances. Whether or not Blizzard is willing to delegate a few resources and manpower to seek a plausible solution is too early to tell, but it's likely that they won't try to make it worthy enough to invest fully into the talent.

In fact, it may be wise to accept that Blizzard won't be making a change to Mark of the Wild soon, since it is one of the more versatile buffs than those of Paladins. It covers a lot of ground and doesn't specialize easily on any of its chosen improvement fields. It's probably not a question of value. It's a question of how much is actually utilized from its overall value.

When You're Gift-ed Who Needs a Mark?

I suppose they could do something with Mark of the Wild since I've gotten to the point of not using it unless absolutely necessary. Or rather when my favorite reagent is on empty for Gift of the Wild. Any enhancements to MotW would have to take Gift into account considering that at an hour's duration the Gift is better. On the whole of all things druid, I think Blizzard could well find better stuff to work on fixing or rather just not nerfing all to hell. Everyone who rants and raves that druids are overpowered only need run in my bear paws a bit and get a feel for how much a pain it can be to deal with rogues, warriors, pallys and mages to name a few. Many assume well just bear up as if bear form were the end all be all sherman tank destroyer of WoW. It's not and with all that Blizzard has given and taken away from druids it's easier calling it an underclass rather than a class. I look at all the numerous stuns, dots, armor, crits etc of other classes that druids don't have/get and it's no wonder so many druids who aren't hardcore and lack the uber-tier epics find themselves at a loss in trying to matchup. Blizzard devs seem to have cowed to the fervent whines of those who've been beaten by a druid and with every other nerf other classes get that much more difficult for the casual playing druid to take on feral form or no.
