Update on WoW character transfer process |
Ó
Two days after Burning Crusade, Blizzard is still trying to get high-pop servers cleared up a bit. In order to make things a bit easier for everyone, Nethaera has posted a new update on Blizzard's character transfers process on the official World of Warcraft forums. Nethaera says:
We are changing the way we process our free character moves and paid character transfers. Players will now be able to queue into the system for the destination realm they wish and continue to play that character until the specified period of time the move will occur. Characters will only be moved after they are logged out of the game. Moves will occur each day from 12:01 AM PST until 2:00 PM PST.
In the event that a realm meets our transfer goals before the scheduled end date the transfers to that realm will be disabled. We highly recommend that if you are planning to transfer that you do so at your earliest convenience.
If you're planning to make a free character transfer, please keep in mind that the servers are still a bit busy. If you find the "character move" option to be greyed out, just keep hitting the reload button. It'll probably take a while but hey, it's free, and even the paid transfer servers are a bit busy.
Also, please be informed that you can only transfer to a server of Blizzard's choosing, unless you spring for a paid transfer.
