Server first: Paladin wins Ring of the Earthshatterer |
Ó
This new patch business has brought forth collective groans of pain from every high-leveled raider and PVP person in World of Warcraft. Not only has it introduced weird wrinkles in raids and changes for classes, but it's also done something with the loot tables for enemies.
Specifically, Alliance players can expect to see Horde-specific items and vice-versa. Now, if you're a low-leveled player, finding some Horde-specific loot isn't so bad. Chances are, you can either sell it, or it's something that required so little attention to killing that its existence doesn't really matter at all. Now, let's see what happens when you go up 59 levels, a lot of raiding experience, and go through one of the toughest dungeons currently available in WoW.
The A-Team guild of Stonemaul, Alliance side, downed Kel'Thuzad in Naxxramas recently, and managed to acquire a server first. A piece of tier 3 armor few people have actually seen, much less used, dropped for their guild. That in itself is quite a feat, but their triumph is altogether bittersweet.
Remember what we said about Horde and Alliance item mixing? Yep. That's it.
Higginz, a Paladin of the A-Team, is the first person in all of Stonemaul to own the Ring of the Earthshatterer, arguably the rarest piece of Shaman-only armor in the game. That's the big problem with the new patch that really frustrates some guilds now, as they'll have to contend with an even smaller chance of getting loot that someone actually needs in their guild. It'll also annoy horde people who've been slaving themselves to the computer in an attempt to get class-specific items, only to find out that it went to the other faction that can't currently use it.
All in all, congratulations to the A-Team for defeating Naxx and grabbing a server first, and our condolences to the hours of your lives that were lost in your unrewarded play. Good game, Blizzard. Good game.
