Raids require full consumables? Ouch! |
Ó
It's a sad truth, but it is the truth nevertheless. A great idea is plagued by lack of deeper strategy and skill and is replaced by the need to spend more time repetitively farming for consumables (or spending more cash - a total of which no one could really afford). We hear you, WoW raiders.
Even with the Black Temple coming in the next patch, it's less likely that the new content will be offering anything new to the raid mechanics. Just stock up, gather your group of 25 and hope to that you brought enough raid flasks to last the mobs. Take for example, the consumable requirement for Hydross at the Serpentshrine Cavern, brought to you by Solipse, a Level 70 Blood Elf Paladin.
To win this encounter, you must have every major consumable possible for your class. This includes full raid flasks. Healers use Flask of Mighty Restoration, Mana Regeneration Potion, Elixir of Healing Power; anything that will increase your healing efficiency or the amount of mana you have. Let's see, that would include:
- 2x Flask of Mighty Restoration
- 20x Super Mana Potion
- 20x Elixir of Healing Power (to cover wipes)
- 20x Major Frost Protection Potion
- 20x Adept's Elixir (to cover wipes)
- 20x Furious Crawdad
- 2x Fel Lotus
- 40x Mana Thistle
- 60x Dreaming Glory
- 60x Netherbloom
- 40x Felweed
- 20x Golden Sansam
- 20x Dreamfoil
- 20x Ancient Lichen
- 20x Primal Water
- 20x Crawdad
What about gear rewards, you ask? You mean those flimsy things? They don't give the bonus grants that could help you reduce the consumables you gulp down, and they're even less likely to aid you against even tougher enemies, such as Illidan. Blizzard still has no intention of changing raid mechanics soon, but they have a solution to the raid gear quality coming also with the next patch.
