PvE to PvP Transfers now available in World of Warcraft? |

There has been a lot of buzz about some PvE players being able to transfer to PvP servers in World of Warcraft with some gamers even pointing this out as a very unfair practice.Apparently these transfers shouldn't have happened in the first place. There was never an option to move characters from PvE to PvP. Blizzard Poster/Forum Moderator Nethaera announced this on the WoW Forums. She made it clear that the transfer clearly violated the policies set by Blizzard and that the character in question is being returned to its original realm. Here's her exact post detailing the situation:
This transfer was based on an internal request that bypassed our checks and balances dictating how such transfers occur. Since the transfer violates our character-transfer policy, the character in question is being moved back to its originating realm, and we have imposed some additional measures to help avoid such situations in the future.
We made this correction as soon as we became aware of the oversight; we appreciate everyone's attention and input on the matter.
It looks like the PvE to PvP transfers won't be happening any time soon. This issue has already been dealt with and safeguards have been put up to prevent it from happening again.

With cross realm BGs I really don't see what the big deal is anymore. Any PVP worth anything is done in an arena or BG, so at this point Blizz is throwing money down the drain by not opening the option up. Having characters on both types of realms I could care less who transfered where.
No joke, just allow transfers anywhere. Bliz knows accounts are sold by the thousands per day, and people will want to go to different places. I am shocked they don't want more money from this. It shocks me more you can move from pvp to pve and just dominate from experience, but you can't go from a carebear to a pvp server... /gasp
Blizz needs to pull their head out and look at the cash possiblilities here. PVE/PVP isn't a huge deal now as the above poster said. Before real PVP gear yea it was a huge deal.
On a PvP server, you'll be spending more time getting killed and camped by the opposing faction - slower to level. I also find I spend a lot more time looking at the World Defense channel - to either avoid getting into conflict when I'm trying to level, or to get into conflict when I want to take a levelling break.
