As amendment to the changes brought about by version 2.0.10 of the Public Test Realm, eternally burning Nethaera announced that the Frost mage downgrade has been official: freezing now has a greater chance to drop at the first touch of critical damage. Wait, did you hear that? It sounded like an ice cube fell.

This is relatively mild for the intended nerf, actually. Freezing effects were to be immediately dropped upon a critical hit, but since the percentage of chance hasn't been clarified, there's still a big skeptical question mark looming over it. It's not like it affects anything, either. The freezing drops just as often anyway. And ol' reliable Frost Nova? Scratch that one, too.

The changes have already been in effect the whole time, as experienced by the war-torn Frost mages out there. It's only now that Blizzard acknowledges the results as an official change and adds it to the list. There's a lot of talk about the mechanics being intentional and kept hush-hush, hoping that no one would notice. But there has been no blue words to quell the resentment, so there's no telling what was intentional or not.

It's just a matter of time before the live realms feel the wrath of the patch.
