Pre-Outlands questlines that deserve a look |

Drewdy of Arathor asked a question that brings out feelings of nostalgia in many of us here at QJ who play Blizzard Entertainment's WoW. Drewdy was wondering what Azeroth-specific questlines would be great to do before entering the Outlands. Specifically, which quests had really good storylines and experience out in Azeroth. The responses from players were certainly worth reading. For one thing, many of them remembered the Plaguelands quest chains, especially Tirion Fordring's Redemption quest chain. Some also fondly advised going through Linken's quest chain, if only to pick up Linken's boomerang.
On the more difficult side (since it requires a raid) is the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline, one of the more involved questlines that required you to be able to kill a Blackwing Lair boss, but also granted one of the first few people to do it the chance to open the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj.
Personally, for sheer accessibility and coolness, nothing beats the Onyxia attunement quest. There's no feeling like walking alongside a hero with a small army behind you, warning newbies to stay away from the Stormwind Keep as you head there to confront a dragon. Good times.
How about you? Any quest chains you'd recommend before heading into the Outlands?
