On reporting in-game spammage |
Ó

On the official WoW forums, Blizzard poster Kaone has posted a heads up for World of Warcraft players who wish to report in-game advertisers and other forms of spammage. Here's the bulk of the post:
We are extremely grateful for any help we receive from players regarding petitions about such spammers. However please keep in mind that in order to maximize the effectiveness of your petition it is important to submit it as soon as possible.
Recently we have seen a tendency by players - especially those using custom user interface AddOns for reporting - to stockpile several reports and then open a ticket later with the details of all the spamming activity.
Unfortunately by this time the spammer is likely to have finished the advertising and may have bothered many other players, which all might have been avoided if only the petition had been made sooner.
Long story short, as soon as you come across any advertisers or spammers while trotting through Azeroth, report it as soon as possible. That way, the spammers can be dealt with quickly. Kaone also mentioned that Blizzard is still hard at work on several systems that will address this concern, but in the meantime, any help from players will be very much appreciated.
