Mad King ThornThe Mad King is coming! The Mad King is coming!

Yes folks, Mad King Thorn returns to celebrate Halloween and the launch of Nightfall. The Mad King will be holding court along with all of his ghoulish cohorts and lackeys for five whole days beginning on October 27 at 12:01 a.m PDT (the same time the Nightfall servers go live) until 11:59 p.m. PST on October 31.

During the five-day event, Guild Wars players will behold the glory of Mad King Thorn as he envelopes the Tyrian Port of Lion's Arch, as well as the Elonian port of Kamadan, with an otherworldly glow. That's right, the great monarch has decided to grace both cities with his presence, and those who present themselves in his court will be rewarded with prizes, mementoes, and a Halloween gift or two.

Mad King Thorn isn't the only one making an appearance this Halloween, though. The wandering Teller of Tales will also be in both Lion's Arch and Kamadan, ready to delight audiences with his tales. Also be on the lookout for peculiar collectors setting up shop in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. You can get some of their spooky wares for yourself in exchange for various items. And if all of that still doesn't get your adrenalin pumping, then there's also talk of additional treasures floating in the chilly, autumnal wind.

Feeling excited now? Check out the calendar of activities below:

Wednesday, October 25 - Lion's Arch and Kamadan are decorated in the Halloween Spirit. Perfect for holiday-themed photo ops!
Saturday, October 28 - Various NPCs and holiday characters begin appearing in Lion's Arch and Kamadan
Tuesday, October 31 - Mad King Thorn makes appearances every two hours through the day in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. His first appearance will take place at 12:01 a.m. PST and his final appearance will begin on Wednesday, November 1 at 12:01 a.m. PST.
