Guild Wars update: Canthan New Year's Festival 2008 coming - Image 1Itching to have a weekend-long MMORPG party? You can definitely be the life of the party in NCsoft's Guild Wars event, the Canthan New Year's Festival 2008.

From February 8 to February 11, players will have the chance to be treated to six festival events, nine festival rewards, two special miniature rewards, and the Party Animal title track.

Here are the things you guys can expect from the events:

  • Monsters are surely to appear to wreak havoc by affecting supplies of things from red dyes to fireworks.
  • A fortune teller will also give an opportunity to players a sneak peek into their futures.
  • The Shing Jea Boardwalk will make a special appearance during the festival
  • The Rollerbeetle Racing Arena will be open to those interested
  • The Dragon Arena will be officially part of the festival as well to those who want a brawling good time
  • A cooking competition will also be available with rewards from chefs and the Celestial Rat
As for the festival rewards, nine items are up for grabs. These are the sugary blue drink, champagne poppers, bottle rockets, sparklers, red bean cakes, bottles of rice wine, the red gift bag, lunar fortune, and the lunar token.

To those lucky enough to acquire multiple pigs during last year's celebration, the special collector will be providing a miniature Celestial Rat this time around.

With this event, the Party Animal title track will be introduced into the game itself. By earning enough points all weekend long will turn players in to true party animals.

Hopefully, this event will be able to provide something memorable to the players. We'll be keeping you posted for more updates on this game as they come.
