Guild Wars holiday event: visit Eye of the North for five hours

To celebrate this holiday season, NCsoft is giving every Guild Wars player a chance to visit the lands of expansion Guild Wars: Eye of the North. If you've got the original Guild Wars campaign, Factions, or Nightfall, an access key can give you five hours of Eye of the North play time.

Characters at levels 10-19 can test out the expansion's offerings even if they only have under level 20 avatars. After inputting the access key, players must then go to certain NPCs in-game to access Eye of the North and get the Journey to the North buff, which will give them temporary level 20 effectiveness.

The fun doesn't stop there, because a special ten-day event is running from December 7 to 16. Players will be able to enjoy these bonuses while the event lasts:

Triple experience from all primary storyline quests in Eye of the North.
Double the chance to receive rare items from chests, and triple the drop rate of Lockpicks in Eye of the North.
Double gold and experience rewards for vanquishing Eye of the North explorable areas while playing in Hard Mode.
