After the pre-registration period ended, the Celestial Tournament for Guild Wars had attracted 277 guilds from all over the world to compete for grandeur and glory, to be crowned champion of the Celestial challenge and win around US$ 7,000-plus worth of prizes, with an ATI Radeon X1950 XTX as the grand prize.
With over 2,500 players coming from 45 countries in Asia, Europe, Oceania and America, the tournament pit contestants against each other in a Swiss-style competition of single-round eliminations. Through a 16-guild end-qualifiers' round, eight winners were sent off to face off against each other in a Quarter Finals match. With their numbers reduced to four, winners bested their opponents to a 2-0 lead for the honor of competing in the Finals.
But only one can triumph, and as revealed by the hosts of the tournament, Team Everfrost wins the Celestial Tournament. Through mastery of their skills, teamwork, broad PvP builds and perhaps a little of Lady Luck on the side, Europe's Everfrost now get immortalized as 2007's Celestial Champions, until the next tournament brings another hopeful to dethrone them.
