Eye of the North: History of the Asura race |
Ó
Being an underground race who relied on magic, the surface proved to be a challenge for them. Fleeing the Destroyers they arrived on the Tarnished Coast, across the Sea of Sorrows. There they found abandoned ruins full of inherent magical energy and there they settled.
By use of magic the Asura rebuilt the ruins to resemble the underground homes they were driven out of, and they also built forges and kilns to produce magical devices and war machines such as the war Golem. They also brought to the land their game of Polymock. The largest Asura settlement, Rata Sum, is home to Hoff, the Polymock master who will teach any who seek to learn the game.
Mamp, a respected man of the Asura race, also lives in Rata Sum. He is considered to be the closest thing to a leader. He is more like a first among equals, or a herder of cats. Although driven out of their homes, the Asura have learned to adapt and with their new lands and new opportunities, they are confident of their success in the world.
Guild Wars: Eye of the North will be released on August 31.
