The latest buzz on Everquest II is that there's this badass menace that's been kicking major butt in the battlefield. Who is this menace, you ask? Fellas, meet the Clockwork Menace. And nope, it's not a "he," nor is it a "she," it's an...it. (Errrr..riiiight.)

Seriously though, it's not the top warriors and swordsmen that have been dominating in the battlefield, it's the Clockwork Menace. But before you start going "WTF?!" on us, let us explain. All this clockwork business started when the gnomes left during the Shattering, leaving in Ak'Anon the clockworks that were forced to become self-sufficient and build the city by themselves. Since then, the clockworks have renamed Ak'Anon into Klak'Anon.

Rebuilding the city by themselves has instilled in the clockworks a superiority complex so pervasive that they've started looking down on everything else, including the gnomes who left Ak'Anon to them. Problem is, the gnomes are back and they want their kingdom back, and the clockworks are not giving in. And with the power of the Clockwork Menace, it looks like the clockworks will be getting their way.

What is the Clockwork Menace? It's the latest, most powerful clockwork model in Klak'Anon with the sole of overpowering any and all opposition in a battlefield. The building of this clockwork itself goes to show that Klak'Anon's clockworks have the intention of taking over Steamfont -- something that the gnomes are very much opposed to.

Players might be surprised to find though, that when they look around Klak'Anon, there are no actual clocks or watches found in the environment. This is because clockworks find it more important to build and have clockwork parts that they can assemble into even more clockworks so that they not only dominate in power, but also in numbers. However, if you're observant enough, you will find that there is a humongous ceiling clock in one of the rooms in Klak'Anon, which was a prototype for the tower in Qeynos that the gnomes built.

As of now, this is all the info we have on the clockworks and the Clockworks Menace, but don't worry, we will keep you posted if and when we find out more about this tick-tocking development, so make sure you check back with us.
