Lich King - Image 1Just 27 hours from the opening of the World of Warcraft European servers, the first lvl 80 player emerges from the fog of war. The name? Nymh. Remember it.

Naturally my first three thoughts were jobless, mother's basement, and Cheetos, but defying all stereotypes, Nymh is actually a young, employed, 21 year-old gamer who took some vacation days to make history with his Warlock. He is a member of Genesis, one of the older guilds on the French Drek'thar server.

How did he do it?

From a recent interview he mentioned that he used a modified Siphon life/ Felguard spec that leads to Shadow Mastery/ Felgard build at 79. The specifics are a little too long to get into but the basic idea can be found in Fusion Strategies if you'd like to check it out for yourself.

Nymh chose the crypt in the Drakil'ji Ruins (Grizzly Hills) as the respawn rate there seemed to be quite high (around 30 seconds before repop). Moreover, the mobs were generally neutral so there's less chance of a time-wasting corpse-run. He also had an out-of-party healer to keep his downtime to a minimum without compromising his xp gain.

Gratz, Nymh. Get some rest, you've earned it.

I have no idea what any of that means, but it sounds like a tremendous waste of time.

» I understand it!

And I have to say that's crazy.. ~1.5 million experience per level from 70 to 80. The highest on my server is 75 (maybe 76 now). We had a 66 Death Knight last night, and when he went to bed the entire Burning Blade server knew because we were tracking him lol
