City of Heroes/Villains: Stateman's Task Force exclusive preview |
Ó
NCSoft has released some exclusive info and screenshots for their MMORPG, City of Heroes/City of Villains, courtesy of Lead Designer Matt "Positron" Miller. NCSoft's PR gives the story behind of the impending struggle between the Heroes and Lord Recluse. Read on as we try to squeeze out the gist of the goods:
- The mission begins with Statesman briefing the player about Arachnos' plans in Grandville. They're currently building a broadcast antenna, with Lord Recluse saying that there's all there is to it. You, of course, know better than this so you take on the task of going to the factory near Grandville and shutting down the antenna.
- As a response to users' demand, the dev team decided to let players take on "mayhem mission" type of battles, with some of the Heroes "clearing" the path to Grandville by destroying the environment surrounding, and leading to, Grandville. Users will also be battling it out with some of the most powerful NPCs that Arachnos offers.
- And what good would being a hero be if you can flaunt your achievements, eh? Narcissists with star complexes of sorts will be glad to know that upon achieving victory in the "ultimate confrontation," players will be able to stand in Atlas Park and show all the citizens and onlookers that they've Saved the World.
