The latest expansion of NCSoft's City of Heroes/City of Villains Issue 10: Invasion has hit open beta. Those who have been keeping up would have probably been waiting for this event. The Rikti have returned and they're really pissed off.

Issue 10 starts with a World Event across numerous zones in both Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. The Rikti, armed with new and brutal weapons, seek to establish a beach head on Earth - whether its motive is to save the lost brethren or to finish the destruction of Earth is still unknown.

Fact of the matter is, Earth's mightiest heroes (villains too) are in for the fight of their lives and no, we're not talking about the Avengers. The expansion will offer players new threats, missions, and inventions, making the game more robust than before.

A good addition is the fact that both super villains and heroes can actually team-up to face these threats . One more thing that old time players should know is that the site of the Rikti crash zone has become a hotspot and is now being contested by Earth's defenders and the alien invaders, so might as well join the fight.
