Chapter 6.2 comes to SWG - Image 1Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) brings good news for all of the Star Wars fans out there, especially those who are avid followers of MMO video game Star Wars Galaxies.

During the third week of May, SOE rolled out Chapter 6 for SWG and just two weeks after that, the company decided to update the game yet again with Chapter 6.2. The complete release note are as follows:
  • Rebel Theme Park:
    • The armor set rewarded for completion has been altered to assault armor
    • Reward armor is no longer flagged as unique
  • Publish Gift:
    • Wim Magwit's Paintings will now work after server restarts
  • General:
    • Fixed an issue with inability to set Frame Color on certain Special Edition Goggles
  • Treasure Chests:
    • Only the map owner can access the loot in the treasure chest
  • Combat:
    • Player actions that lack a damage component will no longer make an attack roll; this will prevent friendly targets from dodging friendly actions such as Nutrient Injection or avoiding hostile actions such as Serotonin Purge
    • Creature disease attacks now target the action pool rather than the health pool
  • Beast Master:
    • Beast Master Trainers have been moved to appropriate locations in:
      • Tatooine - Bestine
      • Tatooine - Mos Espa
      • Tatooine - Mos Eisley
      • Corellia - Coronet
      • Naboo - Theed
Star Wars Galaxies has been around for four year now and all these changes are actually part of LucasArts' and SOE's plans to revamp the game. We'll see if this chapter brings them closer to their goal; do hook us up with your thoughts regarding this.

I'm sorry... but NO!

SWG shot it's self in the foot when they removed the unique skill trees. It was so much fun to mix and match classes and it made the game interesting. You were able to completely unlearn your skills and take on something new. It made the game unique and did not have any cookie cutter characters. The crafting system was excellent, but all of the nerfs, NGE ***** and other crap just ran the game downhill fast. Our only hope is for a server emulator that recreates the game before the NGE *****.

Cookie Cutters?...

I played during pre-cu and cu and when NGE hit I left. I did a free trial about a week ago and the cookie cutter professions are gone. Theres new things called expertise trees which make things allot more fun. There different which isn't necesarilly bad. The game has had some DRASTIC changes in the last year for the BETTER. Why is QJ reporting this as news though? we get one of these little updates about once a week...
