Changes to the changes in WoW's PVP honor system |
Ó

The Before the Storm content patch for World of Warcraft has been live for about a week now, and the devs have had a better opportunity to check out how the fixes and new features included in the patch work. Now, if you've been busy trying out the new honor system, then this piece of news might cause you to choke a bit.
According to Blizzard poster Nethaera, "the effort required to obtain honor rewards is more trivial than we had intended." Consequently, the devs have decided to apply a hotfix during today's maintenance that reduced the amount of honor gained by approximately 30%. This change allows the honor rewards to be obtained at rate that better reflects the itemÂ’s in-game value. Yes folks, one week into the new system and it gets nerfed.
Nethaera says that "the reason that we decided to reduce the rate of honor gain rather than simply raise the honor cost of each item is to ensure that everyoneÂ’s time and effort participating in PvP since the patch is not diminished as this change will only affect future honor accumulation."
A lot of PVPers have gotten pretty pissed off about this, but according to Nethaera, "the information on the reduction of costs in the future is still correct at this point in time," so that's perhaps a little point of good news. Problem is, there's still no set date for when exactly the cost reductions will take effect, so that good news is practically nerfed as well.
