Leveling up is a chore. - Image 1

So the Black Temple is finally here. That's great and all for the raiding community, but some people are wondering about whether or not the arrival of 2.1 means the beginning of changes for the pre-60 community.

That's the question that some people on the forums are wondering about. For those with a penchant for making alts and for those who simply want to take their time, the lack of new content feels much like being abandoned. As Blodgett of Draka mentioned in the forums, "I have alts I want to level, but it's painfully boring."

Despite being somewhat vague, Drysc did offer some hope to the community. According to him,

We actually are working on cleaning up some mid-level zones, well starting with one but planning for others, but we're not comfortable giving any details at this time. Once we get closer to a patch that has significant changes we'll let you know.

An interesting conundrum this. They could either add new content to the existing zones, tweaking the zones to make the questing and leveling experience less of a grind. They could also add new leveling areas or heroic versions of existing low-level dungeons to break up the monotony. They could even do the simple thing of increasing the experience acquired from kills and quests to make up for the lack of new content. Blizzard has to do something to add spice to the pre-expansion content, or the game just won't be as fun for casual players and newbies who feel as if they've been left out of Blizzard's plans.

How about you guys? What would you want Blizzard to do to add some spice into the old world? How would you want them to improve upon what they've already created so that people in their 20s to 50s won't get bored with the content?
