Burning Crusade to slow down levelers

Spellbreaker"Slow but sure" is an oftentimes neglected catch phrase. It's been said many times but nobody actually pays attention to it anymore. But in case you are an overzealous WoW fan and excited with the coming of the Burning Crusade, you might want to heed the old words' warning. Blizzard's Tigole, one of the developers, announced today that leveling is taking on a slower curve.

"So long as you are always questing through your leveling experience, we've achieved our goal. If you ever need to 'stop' and kill creatures to open up quests, then we have more tuning to do," said Tigole. Aside from that, he'd like to specify that three whole entire zones (Blade's Edge Mountains, Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley) are not actually opened for the beta. So those thinking there are so few quests available, kindly reserve your comments until the expansion finally comes out this January.

Aside from those already mentioned, Tigole also highlighted several changes. He pointed out that being open to real players, a beta is actually the best time to fine-tune a game. Don't be surprised then if more changes occur as the Burning Crusade is not yet quite done. While these changes may or may not be applied, here they are:
  • Lengthening the curve a bit
  • Placing more emphasis on Quest Reward Experience
  • Placing more emphasis on Dungeon Experience
  • Placing less emphasis on grinding outdoor creatures while not on a quest
