Blizzards CMs vs players starts today; queueing issues addressed |
Ó
We're sure many World of Warcraft players have been waiting for this day to arrive as this is the chance to meet - and pwn - the Blizzard Community Managers and employees at the Battlegrounds. We sure saw some interesting conversations when the fight was announced.
Some players are having issues about queuing though as they are worried that the system might take forever to find matches and was worried that the gear matching system will only be tested for one day. CM Nethaera answered this concern.
First off, the matching is going to be relatively forgiving so that BG queue time shouldn't be a problem. Also, if your group is comprised of multiple armor sets of different qualities, it's going to work on an average (or at least should). So, you and your friends will still be able to play together and you won't have to worry about making sure everyone has the "right" gear to go into the battleground. All the system should do is help balance out the disparities slightly and make things more fair between teams. There are no "Brackets" involved. You aren't labeled as being a part of a bracket, it's just an average of values weighted against others going into the battleground.
Nethaera added that the testing is ongoing and the event was meant "to kick things off". Let's hope that clears matters up for the folks having doubts about the matching system. And for everyone who's participating, it'll definitely be a fun chance to kill the messengers.
