Blizzard PSA: Don't quote keylogger posts |
Ó
It seems like a fairly obvious thing to do when a keylogger strikes the boards, right? You take note of it, report it to someone in charge, and notice the keylogger post get deleted and the disaster minimized.
What you don't do is repost the keylogger post in its entirety to try and inform other people that a keylogger is out and about, exposing more people to potentially doing the inevitably dumb thing of clicking the URL. At least, that should be the case, right? Well, it doesn't always happen, which is why Blizzard has a PSA of sorts reminding people to not quote keylogger posts in the forums.
Says Aeus of the EU Boards,
Without going into any personal opinions on the matter, we kindly ask everyone who comes across a post with a keylogger in it, NOT to quote the entire thing.
Look at it this way: Keylogger is reported, we remove keylogger, just as we leave the thread to move on to other reports, someone out there is busy quoting the keylogger and clicks "post".
You see how this virus will perpetuate itself?
In short and simple: Don't quote a keylogger; report it, quote the post without the url if you have to, but DO.NOT.QUOTE.THE.URL.
Again, a word of advice: report keylogger posts, and keep yourself from quoting them, alright?

I think it is much easire to install anti-keyloggers BEFORE having problems with them... Can recommend this iste www.anti-keylogger.org I don't actually know, but anti-keyloggers should be also able to defeat already installed keyloggers. Well I would recommend to try
