ArenaNet announces 2007 Guild Wars tournament series |
Ó

ArenaNet (who is NOT chasing after WoW, mind you) has just announced the 2007 Guild Wars tournament series. There's over US$ 100,000 worth of prizes at stake in this tourney, so if you guys think you're up to the challenge, why not have a go? The monthly championships by themselves have over US$ 10,000 worth of prizes at stake. That's not something to scoff at.
Previously, ArenaNet ran the Guild Wars championships in exotic locations that were exciting for the small number of players who attended. However, the old format limited the number of players who were able to join in on the fun. Opportunities for high-level PvP challenges for Guild Wars' growing player base were also somewhat reduced by the old format.
More competitors translates to more fun and excitement all around, and thanks to the new automated tourney system and the single-play competition mode, the number of chances to enter the tournaments will increase. The number of players who have a chance at the real-world prizes at stake will also increase by more than ten times.
