A look back at CoH/CoV Winter event |
Ó
MMO titles City of Villains and Heroes probably had the longest holiday celebration this year. It actually started back on December 14 and will end today, January 2. We have to say, it feels like Cryptic Studios and NCSoft really gave this one a thought and so we could just imagine the fun the players had.In case you are not aware, the celebration was designed in such a way that it feels like a mission - something constant with the game's overall format. The Winter event, as they fondly call it, has two phases. The second one was actually a repeat of last year's where in players need to find and collect a total of 200 presents around Paragon City. Accomplishing this will earn a player a character badge.
On the other hand, the first phase of the event is something new. It's hard to imagine the mission if you're not familiar with the game. Just remember that in the Heroes and Villains universe, everything can be an entity. Here's the description of the event:
In the ski chalet, Old Father Time will give you the mission. After receiving the mission, proceed to the snowbound instanced area filled with Tuatha De Dannon and snow creatures. Defeat these creatures and obtain a key to enter an ice cavern filled with Red Caps. Baby New Year has been held captive by Red Tooth elite boss, Snaptooth. Defeat the boss, retrieve Baby New Year and take her back to the zone entrance.
Oh well, we know you're kind of sorry now because you missed all the fun. Don't worry though, Cryptic Studios promised that there will be a lot of surprises for CoV/CoH this 2007. There are actually four expansions planned for 2007 with the earliest one coming this February.
