Whenever you visit EVE Online's universe, you are likely to meet members of Band of Brothers (BoB) and Ascendant Frontier (ASCN). Simply put, they are the two biggest alliances in the game with a combined total of more than 9,000 players. Now, what happens should the two declare war on each other? Epic battles, huge weapons, massive conflict!

That exactly is what's taking place right now. However, the saddest thing just happened to ASCN as according to reports, they just fired the dreaded solar system-sized nuke, the Doomsday Weapon. ASCN had the wrong cynosaural field unfortunately, and destroyed most of their own fleet. Some of you might be laughing now but... okay, laugh if you want. It really is hilarious when you really think about it, but that certainly spelled a big loss for them.

On the contrary, some (remaining?) ASCN members are claiming they were right on target and depleted BoB's numbers. We do not know who's telling the truth but we understand that in war, pride is very important. We would like to hear though from any of the two camps soon. And just in case you are wondering how powerful this Doomsday Weapon is, just watch the video below.

Get your facts straight :)

According to the latest information, the killmails were bugged; most of them were empty or corrupt so they couldn't be posted to the kill board. I believe there were 16 mails in all. It is very unlikely that ASCN destroyed most of their fleet; again according to the information at eve-o and in the ASCN and BoB blogs they blew up 3 or 4 ships (including a kamikaze cyno ship I imagine). The ASCN fleet was much larger than 4 ships so to say they destroyed most of their own fleet is inaccurate. Your title is also misleading; an alliance did not destroy itself.

Hmm - Not so accurate

Weapon was test fired in a small conflict in a subsyetem on teh fringes of ASCN space. Targetting was right but weapon (First time fired in Game) did not perform as developers had specced. Only 4 ships destroyed in ASCN - among over 4,000 members. Doens't make a difference in overall schemem of things

BoB Disinformation

I didnt think BoB's disinfo agents extended to Blog's like these. I guess I was wrong. They probably have people in Newsweek for that matter. Extending the battle into the "real" world or at least the world outside the confines of the game is against EULA isnt it?
