Ó

We highly doubt if you'd be interested to have one of these creatures for a household pet. They look anything but cuddly, after all. But nonetheless, let us introduce them to you, since it is for your own safety to know which four-legged creatures to watch out for when travelling along the cliffs and crags of the North Downs in LOTRO: Shadows of Angmar.

ferocious beast

The Lynx

The first of these ferocious beasts would be the lynx. Dwelling in great numbers, they can be found in the crags of Nan Amlug (although we cannot fathom why you would want to go out on a search for them). With great stealth, they can actually give Snake a run for his money. Be extra cautious as these fellows creep silently towards their prey, and springs upon them with deadly precision.

Miners of Othrikar, as well as the dwarf-mines of Nan Amlug, are given special warning against the lynx, especially when going to and from their tunnels.

intelligent, ferocious beasts

Wolves

The wolves, meanwhile, are also categorized as beasts. However, they are much more than that. Unlike the lynx, they are considered to be highly intelligent and cunning. Roaming in packs is their MO in searching for prey. But what makes them particularly dangerous is the fact that somebody does consider them as pets. Yes, the wolves are servants of the Enemy.

The Wargs, a breed of the wolves, is deemed to be the most ferocious of their kind. And as myth would have it, fell-spirits were cast into wolves a long time ago, hence the breed of Werewolves.

you just don't wanna go near them

Barghest

Last but not least of the beasts is the Barghest. Mostly thriving in the Fields of Fornost, they are considered to be the worst of the four-legged fiends. Like the Werewolves, they are said to be possessed of a fell-spirit. The good news is that unless you wander off to ancient fields of battle and burial grounds, you're most likely safe from encountering them.

So there. Those are the creatures to watch out for throughout Eriador. But don't heave a sigh of relief just yet. There's more to come, we promise you.
