Dungeons & Dragons Online: 6 Class Specific Videos for Download |
Ó
We've managed to get our hands on six videos from Dungeons & Dragons Online. Each of these clips is about 30 seconds long and shows a specific class. The ones currently available are; Rogue, Fighter, Cleric, Bard, Wizard and Barbarian. Although there are a total of 9 classes to choose from, unfortunately, Ranger, Paladin & Sorcerer do not have trailers available at the present time.
DDO also offers the choice of five character races; humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, and warforged. What's interesting about the DDO character structure is that both multiclassing (belonging to more than one class) and prestige classes (exclusive classes available only to more experienced characters) are being implemented in the game. What this means is that as you progress in level players will have the ability to create a kind of 'hybrid' character, harnessing abilities from a mix of three or four classes. What's also interesting is that unlike many other MMOGs, the devs have made a concious decision to ensure that rogue characters, "...don't get the short end of the stick", which has been a reoccuring issue in several other MMOs released last year. "Just about anything and everything in a dungeon can (and often will) be trapped, so having a rogue around to protect you is a good idea." The game is set to hit stores on February 28th and after being ranked the "Most Anticipated Game of 2006" by mmorpg.com, you can be sure that this one is going to fly off the shelves.
