CGDFEver heard of CGDF before? Well, neither have we but it stands for Christian Game Developers Foundation. It is actually a non-profit organization co-founded by Ralph Bagley. Accordingly, Bagley is not new to game industry as he's known for developing the first high-quality Christian-themed video game.

Anyway, Bagley stated that their group's main objective is to help parents make informed decisions about interactive entertainment for their kids. "The video game industry is a dark, violent, satanic, sexually explicit place that is full of dangerous traps," says Bagley. The group currently has offices in Oregon, California and Indiana, and their official site offers parental resources regarding the matter.

Bagley then reiterates that parents need to be informed saying, "probably eight out of ten parents really don't understand the level of depravity in some of these games." He then singled out the Sims series, noting it to be a rated E game that can turn into a pornographic game with the addition of few modification.

This is better than banning video games

At least these guys are taking a reasonable approach to the violence issue. The parents that need more information can use hteir resources. I would rather take this approach than banning the M or A rated games like some of these wackos like Jack Thompson want to do. Just my opinion though...
