ArSorry to let you down but the insanely popular online game WOW (World of Warcraft) will not be coming to the Xbox360. Mirroring Jeff Strain's statement from earlier this week, Blizzard's COO Paul Sams has said that the an "360 version of World of Warcraft is most definitely not in the works." The MMORPG, World of Warcraft boasts a massive subscription list topping 6 million, and has one per every 1000 persons playing, worldwide.

“We do not have any plans to take WoW to Xbox 360,” Blizzard COO Paul Sams told MCV. “WoW is built as a PC gaming experience. Porting PC games to console often compromises games, and we’d never allow the WoW gameplay experience to suffer.

Also, it’s important to us that the entire player base is able to play together. Microsoft’s Xbox Live architecture is very protected from all sorts of outside influence, so shared play between 360 and PC owners would be very tough. We wouldn’t even consider WoW for 360 unless we could overcome that hurdle.”

Sams also noted that while he does expect plenty of MMO's to eventually hit the newer consoles, he emphasized the control differences and stated that, "developers will have to overcome the difficulties presented by the use of a joypad instead of a keyboard."

"We don't want to release it on the xbox 360 because we are too lazy and microsoft won't kiss our asses and line our pockets with money.... so in return we will make a bunch of unfounded negative statements about xbox live until bill gates is ready to pucker up and kiss are large overly pimpled asses.

wow sucks anyway

it is one of the most frustrating mmo ever... Besides if they don't want to release a version of wow on 360 then why make a press release about it unless you are trying to persuade someone... do they think by making these sub-sophomoric business anouncements that all the little kids sad about not having wow on the 360 are gnna nock on bill's door and cry oyt "Please Bill just kiss their asses and line their pockets with money so we can have a crappy mmo that will probably be outclasses in a week or too anyway!"

No XBox 360s in China

Blizzard is pushing WoW in the eastern market, namely China. I've read in China players don't even have to buy the boxed version of WoW, they only pay a small fee monthly somewhere in the realm of 2 bucks / month. I think its a safe bet that not too many xbox 360s are available over there.

deceptive title

They're not saying that the Xbox 360 couldn't handle it...they're just saying that they're too lazy or don't want to. It's no big deal really. I'm not playing it on PC and I sure wouldn't play it on 360...so no skin off my nose. The article's just trying to take a dig at the 360. Better luck next time.

My name: T'Joncke Dany - not a coward

Actually if you take a short look at FFXI you wonder why Blizzard has any problems with xbox live. With FFXI (even the beta version i tried on PC and x360) the company making FFXI proves that joining 3 worlds (PS2 ,PC and X360) is possible so why can't Blizzard.???????. This is just about *****ing money and not about technology. Go to hell BLIZZARD. Your not for gamers just for your pocket....... Anyway I do not really care as I my opinioni about WoW is CRAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP. This is not even close to RPG. Greetz everybod.
