Works of art are usually conceptualized in white heat and revised in cold blood. That seems to have been the case with Paul Dainton's painting "The Assault on Lothern" for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

In fact, EA Mythic took the time to give us a little history about how the painting went from a sketch to the finished product you see above. According to EA Mythic, the painting went through several versions - each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Dainton took the best elements from each, combined them and added more details here and there to create the final version of the painting.  EA Mythic plans to use Dainton's masterpiece in future marketing and promotional materials for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Considering the meticulous amount of work that went into it, we think that's a pretty good idea.
