The latest updates for Winter's Twilight  includes PvP, new player documentation, and Faction Standing. Here's a quick overview:

Winters Twilight

WT is unique in that it has different servers running versions of the game world ( or "shards" ). This allows the shards to develop and grow in  different directions. The new faction system multi-tiered PvP ruleset is geared toward this goal.

Players should to be able to progress at their own pace, never feeling limited in what they can do, how good or evil they can be, or what  rewards and punishment they may experience.  Actions of ther players not only affects them, but the game world as a whole.

Factions

Factions are cultural and socio-political groups who have developed certain feelings, either negative, indifferent or positive towards other such groups. As such, they dictate the way that the characters in the game 'feel' about each other.

All characters, NPC or PC, attain Faction Standing as a result of negative or positive actions against another PC or NPC. A character's Faction Standing changes every time they undertake an action, such as an attack, a quest, etc.

Player Vs Player

THe PvP system that would ensures that the more experience a character gains, the challenging the gameplay experience becomes. "We firmly believe that a great game keeps you on the edge of your seat, makes you sweat with panic when you find yourself in unfamiliar territory, causes you to think before blindly rushing in, encourages group play and comraderie, allows actions to go rewarded and punished... well, you get the idea," says one spokesperson for developer Pixelbridge.
