Warhammer Online: Witch Elf details, concept art revealed |
Ó
One of the advantages of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is that it has a huge stock of lore from which it can draw from. It seems that EA Mythic is taking advantage of this and has revealed one of the Dark Elf classes that veterans of the tabletop game will recognize: Witch Elves. These maiden-elves are married to the Elven god Kaela Mensha Khaine, and are members of an all-female cult of warrior priestesses. In battle, these beautiful women use poisoned sacrificial daggers and their natural elven agility and speed to quickly overwhelm defenders.
Those who would pick the Witch Elf as their primary character will find the Witch Elf to be akin to rogues, assassins, or thieves in other MMORPGs. Players will find themselves most effective in taking out lightly armored targets in battles. If the character has to face a heavily armored opponent, the player can build up her frenzy ability and use it to launch powerful strikes to bring the opponent down.
If you are unlucky enough to face a Witch Elf in single combat, the most important thing to remember is that the class barely has any armor. While they will probably dodge most of your blows thanks to their agility and speed, a few powerful hits from any weapon should normally be enough to defeat a Bride of Khaine.
Judging from the description of the Witch Elf, it will probably be one of the more prominent DPS classes in the game. When Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning goes live by mid-2008, you might want to keep a watchful eye on these deadly women. To help you along, here are a few pieces of concept art so you'll know what you're up against.
