Warhammer Online: guild user interface revealed and explained |
Ó
Ever since the Guild Beta for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning started, we've been getting more and more updates regarding how this feature of the game will run. Today, we see yet another update on guilds, namely, the user interface which players will be using to manage the organization.
It seems that the guild menu will have a total of seven tabs. Initially players will only have access to the Profile, Reward, Roster, Standard, and Admin tabs. As the guild grows however, they will eventually be able to unlock the Calendar and Alliance tabs.
The Profile tab (pictured on the left) contains the guild summary, description, message of the day, guild website, guild e-mail, statistics, and news. This is also the place where players can leave messages for other guildmates as well as set up their guild profile to advertise their organization to potential members. The Reward tab is where you can check the rewards the guild can receive. More importantly, it's also the place where higher ranking members can access the tactics purchase window for their guild.
The Roster tab (pictured on the right) lists all of the guild members including their names, rank, career, title within the guild, and current state of the player. An interesting and undoubtedly useful addition to this tab is the ability for members of the guild to leave notes as well as a separate area for officers to leave private messages. The Admin window is where the guild leader and officers set restrictions on the members of the guild. This is where guild privileges such as enabling and editing guild titles are given.
The Standard tab (pictured on the left) is where the guild's standard is displayed. In this window, guild members can view their standard, edit their heraldry, set the standard post, as well as modify their tactics for the standard. In addition, this is also the place where players can also customize their guild standard to their own liking.
The Alliance tab is a guild reward that can only be unlocked when a
guild reaches a certain level. As expected, this is
where Alliances between guild are forged and broken. Up to ten guilds can enter an alliance, with each guild Leader being an Alliance
leader as well. Finally, we have the Calendar window (pictured on the right). Like the last tab, this can only be unlocked when a guild reaches a certain level.
This tab allows users to set-up, manage, and view guild events. There is also a sign-up section which should allow members to indicate their interest in various events the organization may be running.
All in all, it looks like the developers from EA Mythic implemented the guild user interface quite well and have added all the necessary components for running a guild efficiently. However, we just have to point out that all these options may be a bit daunting for a first time guild master to keep track of all at once.
