Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning novel coming out |
Ó
Electronic Arts and Black Library Publishing have announced that they will be releasing a novel based on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The first book in the Age of Reckoning series will be called Empire in Chaos and is slated to be out early next year. The author, Anthony Reynolds, spoke about his work on the novel, saying that:
The Warhammer world is a grim place, full of horror, violence and dark humor, and the EA Mythic team have really brought that to life - faithfully creating a living, breathing, bellicose world being torn apart by constant warfare. It's the perfect backdrop for a novel.
I'd been following the progress of the game for some time and it was easy to see that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning was going to be something special.
The novel starts with the lands of the Empire being ravaged by a terrible plague. The main character, Annaliese Jaeger, has her town attacked by mutants in a bloody raid. Only she and an injured Elf captive survive this attack. Both of them travel towards Black Fire Pass to seek refuge. As they travel Annaliese finds courage and faith within herself. Eventually they meet up with a grizzled Witch Hunter and a Dwarf Ironbreaker and together they take on greenskin tribes and the hordes of Chaos.
It looks like a solid novel, and one that fans of the Warhammer universe will probably appreciate. So be sure to watch out for it when it does come out in major bookstores and on Black Library's website.
