Many emails that contain misleading information for Tibia players are circulating the net recently. Tibia is the one of the oldest and longest-running MMORPG, which has been developed by CipSoft GmbH. Its success can be attributed to the fact that a large portion of the game can be downloaded from the official site and users can play for free. If the user wishes to upgrade to a "premium account", they can sign up for a monthly fee that can unlock many additional areas and game features such as spell and outfits. Tibia players have priority login rights on the congested game servers.

Recently, there have been reports that many players are receiving emails that asks for their personal account data. CipSoft Team warned that these fraudulent emails are definitely NOT sent by them. Emails with the titles such as "recovery key", "review", "update", or the ones where you are asked "to reconfigure" should be taken with a "grain of salt" for these emails are not official.

Cipsoft Team advises Tibia users to be extremely careful with such emails, especially those that contain links that lead onto pages on which users are asked to enter their account number and password. Furthermore, CipSoft Team advises players to to look at their security hints and follow the guidelines in protecting their accounts. If you wish to enter Tibia's official site, the team strongly recommend that you manually type www.tibia.com.
