SWTOR for Mac?

The guys at Bioware say Star Wars: The Old Republic for Mac is not out of the question. The game has been hugely popular since release; it has even gotten coverage on "pedestrian" news services as "the next big thing." There's nothing like watching a newscaster try to understand a MMO.

Anyway, the developers of SW:TOR were recently asked if the game would be available on Mac anytime soon. Two Bioware reps, Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, said that they know there are "Mac people" that want to play The Old Republic and that Bioware wants "to serve that audience."

They did reiterate that they wanted to focus on the launch first and make sure everything goes smoothly before looking to other platforms, but that Mac is one of the things they're "looking at next." Zeschuk also said that they wanted to look at other platforms and that Mac was obviously one of those. One of those? Maybe consoles? It could happen, in theory.

OK, everybody scream "bootcamp!" or "partitions!" or whatnot. That's great, but there are a lot of casual Mac users that don't want to go through all that trouble. On the other hand, those people will pick up a copy of The Old Republic on a whim and let's face it: it's the casuals that make up the bulk of sales.
