Sony takes Station.com down |
Listed in: News Tags: PlayStation Network, Sony, Sony Online Entertainment

Sony is already working feverishly to bring the entirety of the PlayStation Network back online but it seems their problems extend beyond the PSN. Sony Online Entertainment's online PC portal, Station.com, has also been taken offline due to an issue tied with the alleged "extrenal intrusion" that brought PSN low.
The portal's homepage currently has the following message on display:
We have had to take the SOE service down temporarily. In the course of our investigation into the intrusion into our systems we have discovered an issue that warrants enough concern for us to take the service down effective immediately. We will provide an update later today (Monday).
SOE uses the portal for many of its massively multiplayer online games.
Sony headquarters announced over the weekend that PSN services will start going back online this week. Reports state that things are pretty much back to normal in Japan. Servers in the US and UK are expected to go live again soon.
