Danish-based game developer Runestone has announced the release of its latest MMORPG, Seed.

This one takes place on the extraterrestrial Earth colony, Beta Hyi. The cryo-ships have arrived, but the settlers aboard - "speed-grown" from frozen embryos - have been born too soon, and are now trapped inside a giant tower. Their survival depends upon finding a way to work together. This is another example of a type of game in which rewards are given for co-operation rather than competition (which, in light of the direction the  real world is taking, is not a bad value upon which to focus).

As with all MMO games, players will be able to create their own characters. Ones character can work in Administration, technology, or research fields, so this game has it all for the science-fiction fan. The game features "comic book" type graphics, giving it the flavor of a graphic novel, and communication among players and NPC's will take place with nuggets and emoticons. More information and downloads are available at Runestone's official game site.
