We recently took a look at an MMO that was released in 2005 titled PROJECT ENTROPIA. What separates this Massivley Multiplayer game from the rest of the herd is that it utilizes a real cash economy. What does it all mean you ask? The economy in the game uses a currency called PED, and every 10 PED you earn is equivalent to 1 US dollar which you can then have deposited directly into your bank account. The reverse also works if you would like to add some money to your account; the currency is converted to PED and you can use it to purchase new items for your character. The best part, believe it or not, is that the game is completely free to download and play. There are no monthly charges, no fee to purchase the game, just download, install and start earning some $.The Breakdown:
The game is set on the distant colony of Calypso which is thought to be the first planet inhabited by humans. Your role in the game is to help your colony build a new world. They have a wide range threats, such as forest creatures to the dreaded Araneatrox Stalker. They also harness the ability to do several interesting things such as to tame animals and train them to perform various actions. Everything that is won, purchasedm or sold can be translated into real money, which means if someone is willing to buy your laser rifle from you for 50 PED, you just earned yourself $ 5 US - not a bad thing considering youÂ’re playing a game? Although the collection of PED in early levels does take some time, there are currently 372,000 people playing this game and there is a total of 1.6 million US dollars in circulation.
If any of this sounds interesting to you give the game a shot. ItÂ’s easy to get discouraged in the early stages of the game but it might pay off down the line. In October someone bought a Space Resort during an in game public auction for $ 100,000.00 US and now heÂ’s renting rooms out and collecting taxes among many other things. It certainly sparked our interest.

this is probably one of those games where you can play as a full time job. I heard some people easily make 3k US dollars a month just playing this game on a daily basis.

Say what you want about the game, just don't say it is a "scam". I personally have withdrawn money and have had many friends that have as well.
It is not a scam, but, if you don't know your limits you can lose alot of money. Losing a house? I don't think so...

Entropia has been around for years and people successfully withdraw all the time. If you fail, the problem lies with you.

If you enjoy playing and you have patience you have nothing to worry about. If you think of it as some kind of cash grab then you better be prepared to fall into the money trap. MindArk isn't trying to rip people off, however, they do need to make money and if people are going to be careless and start dropping small fortunes on virtual lakefront properties it's their own fault.

The big payouts are you staff's freinds around the world.
The only time big payouta happen is if a tv crew are around or something.
Then it's given to whomever they thing would benfit the game. NOT a fair system with any randomness.
You can be set to fail or set to win. In other words you dont have a chance unless you bend over and suck up to mindark staff,, or are sweedish. Note sweedish players get 98% of all big payouts !!
The most dishonest "virtuall Universe" and the biggest scamm ever.
You will note that the ATH or big payouts concurred just before land was released. Therefore giving a paemenent payout to whoever"THEY" chose.
You can loose $35 usd per hour on some mobs. Thats pure loss!!!
Only for them to give away that money to a "mate"
Untill outside authorities make this system "fair" and lock up the scamers that run it. Dont paly dont put $ in as they will take it alland give it to a buddy !!!
Entropia Universe is not a fair system and will always be run on a mates get best loot.
Do not try and becombe uber as it will cost minimum of $50K usd.. just to start! then you dont actually have a chance unless they decide to give you some. and lets face it you weould have a sore ass after being so nice to em
In closing... I do hope that mindark get locked up for the improper way in wich they run the game .
Also dont forget around $ 1000 usd is stolen from players every day in EU and mindark dont do anything about it.

I never contacted MA.
I deposit regulary and take money out regulary. And i still have more money in game the the sum of all my deposits.
If u cant play it, if it is to hard or if u didnt bother to read EULA then it is your fault.
The next fellow may play better and be willing to investigate more then u, so he win and the other ones have to lose so that he win or do u expect MA put pay with there money?! That is not the point of the game! You can only win if you superiorise yourself to other ppl.
About hunting randomness: you were very unfair, do 1000 hunts get the everage and u will c you loose about 10% average on each run, then look at the profit u make from the good item u have... u will c that if u were to sell what u got to other players you would be profiting....
This is the reality on Entropia, you dont win from MA you win from other players... or u get really lucky.
THe game is not a scam, dont believe it is or you will be loosing a great experience. if u dont believe me just deposit $20 has if you were buying the game, get a riple from the trade terminal and a a104 amp from the players that r selling it... repair the amp to max. get a smart armor like pixie from other players to and buy 55 ped on bullets. when u finish each hunt repair to full the armor and the amp. u will c you will play for a full month witou depositing again and you will have more money (includint the tt+ on items) then u started with. i introduced 7 friends to the game and they all profited in the 1st month... after that... well best brain win... that just it.

Also in the last 6 months prices on average have risen 10-15% for raw materials. Space flights were 16 PED (1.60 US Dollars)- then 20 now 25 --- in 6 months.
Reseller madness, scamming, bugs etc- the gamer has lost people are leaving daily - I am one of em.
RIP Entropia - a pity - :-(

Oh well, just as I expected my account on Entropia has been wiped by MA. Allow me to explain - anyone sounding oppinions that are in a bad light for Mind Ark gets pulled. I had never experienced this and to be truthful half expected it. Lucky that all my stuff in the game had already been given to friends, skills chipped and given away etc.
I stand by my previous comment and now more so, you cannot run a succesful business if you do not acknowledge the concerns of your customers, and more importantly dictate to them how they should air their opinions. The stance by MA (now more people say My Arse- than other conutations) is infantile, and verging on dictatorship - IF YOU DON’T LISTEN TO YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS THEY WILL LEAVE…..
.. and are doing.
Glad to be out, more so now than ever. Many more are feeling the same way, judging by opinions expressed privately by others who have emailed me their support for raising this from people/friends within the game.
Maybe now they will ban everyone I ever spoke to - it is laughable. MA - grow up.
Lastly one has to wonder why support there takes forever, bad PR brings on instant dismissal. Allow me to elaborate, virtual items are in essence worthless - pixel dust. MA promise a price for sure - BUT - this is the tt price (trade terminal) all other price hikes are hype, or insane rich people who think it is an investment.
Secondly - virtual property is in fact worthless, the real world has supply and demand for property, goods etc. In game MA can create as many virtual dolls houses they like and a new world is a new server - nothing more nothing less.
NOTE- TT PRICE FOR LAND or property IS 0. zilch, nada, worthless if no-one is left to buy it….
So in conclusion - as a previously depositing player- don’t play, don’t bother - we have enough real life dictators, industrial tax evaders and cheats within the real world without some two bit scammers running a game like this.
sad to say it but has got to be said.
RIP- Entropia - was fun till I saw the cracks in the pavement

wk 1- New Version Update- resulting in unplayability, a potential strike by the players, and a lot of really agry people. the angry mob was formed.
Wk2- Still lousy service, players being banned for complaining, new players leaving in droves.
Wk3- (Beginning) - Organisers of complains are banned and guess what - updates that made things worse....
Wk3-(End)- Bugs fixed, the players in uproar about the avatar "Alphageek" and others being banned. After hectic discussion and a resulting mob forming Alphageek's account restored.....
Don't bother playing - The company that run this game have serious phycological isues. I mean banning customers for complaining about something they have a perfect right to complain about?
Wow never seen anything like it before and won't again - this game is a joke
