PotBS: Servers now up, devs currently testing battle system updates |
Ó
After suffering from severe latency issues, Pirates of the Burning Sea servers Kidd, Rackham, and Morgan are now up, however some players may still experience some lag problems in-game. No worries, since Flying Lab Software is currently dealing with the problem in order to completely get rid of the rather annoying issue. But that's not the only game improvement that that game developers are working on. Flying Lab Software is also tweaking the gameplay concerning the Ad-Hoc open sea battle spawning system. Players will notice some changes implemented on the following gameplay aspects: group/side flashpoints, angle of attack, reinforcement distance, and auto-join.
The changes in the flashpoints will make players spawn relative to the group spawn points, instead of the central flashpoint which is currently the case. This way, the opposing forces won't be scattered and spread out all over the map.
The new changes concerning the angle of attack is relatively simple, but is a nice update nonetheless: angles of attack will be recorded only once, lending more weight to player's decisions regarding attack plan. This change will also avoid cheating by letting players spawn reinforcement ships around an opponent.
Speaking of reinforcements, Flying Lab Software tweaked the spawn points of reinforcement ships in Pirates of the Burning Sea. The previous system will send players to a totally random location if ever it lands on an invalid spot. In the update, the system will search for possible spawn points incrementally, along the angle of attack, making sure that the spot is relatively reasonable.
And lastly, players will now have more control regarding auto-joining battles. Once the update is implemented, there will be a setting which lets players choose between the following options concerning auto-joining battles: Always (which will let you auto-join automatically), Prompt (where players will have dialog boxes popping up asking if they want to accept or decline to join the battle), and Never (always manually join battles).
The above changes will be implemented once Flying Lab Software finishes with the internal testing of the updates. Stay tuned for more Pirates of the Burning Sea news!
