Pirates of the Carribean Online delayed - Image 1Disney has given word that Pirates of the Caribbean will be a little delayed. This was done to allegedly give developers more time to enhance the game, implement some of the suggestions by the beta-testers, and fix a few of the bugs that cropped up during its beta testing.

The first beta will be ending this July 16. It has been announced that a second testing will occur this September, presumably with all the tweaks for the game implemented and the bugs ironed out. Of course the developers aren't going to be leaving the community hanging just like that that. They've given word in their press release that,

In the meantime, we will continue to support and grow the strong community that has congregated around Pirates of the Caribbean Online through monthly developer diaries and newsletters, the delivery of new screen shots and assets, hosting a variety of in-game and fan events and through other exciting creative campaigns.

So it looks like we won't be able to let our friends "walk the plank" any time soon. Still, we hope the developers really use the time to polish the game because a lot of the players were really impressed at what they've already done. It would be a shame if the game didn't turn out good.
