Pirates of the Burning Sea gets Loot Book fix - Image 1If you're wondering why you can't play Pirates of the Burning Sea right now, here's the reason: Flying Lab Software has taken down the servers to implement a fix to Loot Books.

With that said, the company has decided to give something to players for the inconvenience this downtime will cause. Here's the announcement from Community Envoy Aether:

On Wednesday morning, from 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., we will be taking our live servers down in order to publish a build that not only fixes the lootless Loot Book issues, but distributes an additional two Loot Books to all our players.

We apologize for the original oversight and thank you for your patience!

As you can see, the downtime isn't exactly that bad. You guys can now go back to sleep, safe in the knowledge that, when you wake up, you'll be getting some free swag.
